Gerdena M. Brown

Gerdena M. De Hoedt Brown, 85, of Kellogg, died Friday, Aug. 20, 2021, surrounded by the love of her family at her home in Kellogg.

Gerdena’s funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 24 at the Newton Church of The Way, 2306 S. Third Ave. E. in Newton. The family will greet friends from 5 to 7p.m. Monday, Aug. 23 at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton. Burial will be at Our Silent City Cemetery in Kellogg.                                

Memorials to the Kellogg Township Fire and Ambulance may be left at the funeral home or at the church on the morning of the service. If you are mailing your memorial to the funeral home please add, Attn: Brown Family on the envelope.      

Those left to cherish Gerdena’s memory are her husband of 64 years, Merl; children, Mike (Aileen) Brown of Kellogg, Rick (Mary) Brown of Kellogg, Cindy (Mike) Meredith of Kellogg and David (Kathy) Brown of Kellogg; her nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; her sister, Irene (Wilford) Roose of Pella; and sister-in-law, Lucy De Hoedt of Simpsonville, S.C. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Gerald, Clarence and Rich De Hoedt; and one sister, Jacoba Walker.
