Karen Kay Renfro

Karen Kay (Scott) Renfro passed away July 12, 2021, in the comfort of her own home. She was born in 1945 in Chariton, to Frank and Eva (Corum) Scott. She graduated high school in 1963 from Newton Senior High School. She was united in marriage to Ray Renfro in 1965 in Unionville, Mo., and worked at Maytag Corp for 27 years before retiring in 2004. She enjoyed camping, attending sporting events for her children and grandchildren, vacations with friends, playing cards and going to garage sales.

She is survived by her daughter, Valerie Hague-Renfro; and her daughter-in-law, Robin Hague-Renfro; her grandson, Joshua Millage; granddaughter, Megan James (Anthony James); and great-granddaughter, Aeralyn James. Preceding her in death were her parents; sister, Dorothy VanKlavern; husband, Ray; beloved son, Troy Scott; and many of her precious pets. 

It is her wish that donations be made to Unity Point Grinnell Hospice. There will be no services and her remains will be buried at McKeever Cemetery in Colfax at a later date.
