Carol M. Smith, 80, of Newton, died Wednesday, May 12, 2021, at EveryStep Kavanagh Hospice House in Des Moines. No services will be held at this time. The Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory is handling the cremation.
Carol, the daughter of John and Edna (Collins) Farr, was born Oct. 21, 1940, in Corydon. She was a homemaker most of her life. On July 26, 1997, Carol was united in marriage with Roger Smith in Baxter. She enjoyed playing Bingo, fishing, her flowers and reading the newspaper. Carol also collected solar dancing toys. She was a loving and devoted wife.
Carol is survived by her brother, Harry (Patty) Farr; brother-in-law, Curtis Harlow; sister-in-law, Alice Farr; several nieces and nephews; her close friend, Brenda Wilcox; and her many other friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roger; sisters, Margaret Clark and Mary Harlow; and brother, Earl Farr.
