Sue was born in Topeka, Kan., May 11, 1933. On Aug. 23, 1952, she married Gary Ellis Iverson. She attended Nebraska University and was a member of Delta Gamma sorority. Their marriage began by farming in Ponca, Neb. A career advancement for Gary led the family to relocate in Utah. After returning to western Iowa, Sue prospered as the private travel coordinator for Iowa Beef Processors and enjoyed private success by owning and operating Island View Resort in Minnesota. After beginning early retirement in Two Harbors, Minn., Gary and Sue settled in warm South Texas. Sue then worked at the Rockport, Texas Humane Society for many years and was proud to have received their first meritorious award.
Those left to honor her memory are her children, Kristine (Tom) McGrail of Cicero, Ind., Barbara (Marvin) Versteegh of Newton and Hans (Kerstin) Iverson of Minneapolis, Minn.; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; the Gessigs (life-long friends); the 3 G’s (newer friends); she also loved each of her furry friends — past and present. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Gary; her parents, George O. and Faye Anderson; and her brothers, Orville R. Anderson and George R. Anderson.
