Jeff “Breck” Breckenridge, 61, of Des Moines, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by the love and comfort of his family Monday, April 5, 2021. He was born in Newton, Dec. 20, 1959, to Thomas and Betty Breckenridge.

Jeff graduated from Newton High School in 1978. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1982 until his honorable discharge in 1988. Jeff retired from Maytag after 30 years of service and the Polk County Sheriff’s Office after 12 years.

Jeff was a hardworking man who had an adventurous spirit. He loved gambling, traveling, hunting and driving his Corvette. Jeff was also an avid Harley Davidson enthusiast, enjoying countless rides over the years. Jeff also loved to entertain family and friends at his home bar. Above all else, Jeff cherished time spent with his family and friends.

Jeff is survived by his loving wife, Pam Anderson; his children, Dustin Breckenridge, Brandy (Stanley Nevins) Hawn, Miranda (Mike) Tuttle and Marisa (Mark) Malaney; grandchildren, Jordon (McKayla), Madisan (Adrian), Caleb (Katelynn), Morgan (Kyle), Brandon, Carter, Michael, Braylee, Tucker, Jackson and Kaden; great-grandchildren, Adelyn and Lucca “Tristan” due in May. He is also survived by his sisters, Pam Priaulx and Kris (Kenny) Nelson; one niece and two nephews; as well as many cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Betty.

A funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Monday, April 12 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., in Des Moines. The family will receive visitors from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday.
