Free concert with songwriter/storyteller

Bobby Jo Valentine will present a free concert at 2 p.m. May 4 at First Lutheran Church. The concert is being sponsored by First Lutheran, United Church of Christ and St. Stephen’s Episcopal churches.

Valentine writes his own music and accompanies himself on guitar. He mixes his songs with storytelling for an engaging interaction with his audiences. He describes himself as “an explorative, hopeful, spiritual artist who strives to make music and poetry that is good medicine for everyone.” He has won multiple awards for his songwriting, given a Tedx Talk, and is a believer in the soft and steady power of everyday acts of love to heal our world.

A fellowship time will be in the church Fellowship Hall following the concert, allowing attendees to visit with Valentine and each other. A free will offering to benefit the local food pantry will be accepted.
