Chess Club for Kids!
Monday, March 31, 30 –5 p.m.
Kids in grades 1st – 6th are invited to learn how to play chess and practice with other children their own age. This program is free to attend and will be held in the teen area. No registration required
April Mystery Bag
Wondering what to read next? Check out our FREE monthly mystery bags for adults! Mystery bags have a different theme every month and contain a surprise selection of 4-5 books and an adult craft. Return the library books when you’re done with them - keep the craft! The April theme is “A Lifetime of Stories” and includes a selection of biographies and memoirs. The craft is a bird’s nest candy jar. Registration opens March 24. Call the library at 641-792-4108 to register. Ages 18+.
Gory Stories Book Club

Do you love true crime? Join our monthly Gory Stories Book Club! Bring your lunch and join other true crime addicts to discuss a new book each month and share our favorite books, podcasts, & documentaries! Copies of the book can be picked up at the library information desk. The April book selection is “The Angel Makers” by Patti McCracken.
Blues Under the Blue Roof: Denny Garcia

Denny Garcia performs at Blues Under the Blue Roof! Check out a new live blues music performance every month, all winter long. This event is held in the library meeting room and is free to attend. All ages welcome. This concert series is made possible by the South Skunk Blues Society, The Arts Connection, and the Newton Public Library Foundation.
Spring Book Swap
Monday, April 14, 5 – 6 p.m.
Clean out your bookshelves and pick up some new-to-you books at our Spring Book Swap! Drop off your gently used books at the library April 7 - 12 and pick up a book swap ticket for each book you bring in. Bring your tickets back on April 14, between 5 and 6 p.m. to pick out new books from the swap to take home! Books should be in good condition, clean, and gently used.
Library Book Sale
April 15 & 16, 9 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Pick up some great books while supporting your library! Cash and personal check will be accepted. Proceeds from the book sale go towards supporting library programs and projects.
