Jasper County constituents are invited to attend an upcoming legislative gathering with Reps. Jon Dunwell and Barb Kniff McCulla and Sen. Ken Rozenboom this weekend at the Newton Public Library. The Iowa lawmakers will give updates on the legislature and entertain questions from constituents.

Hosted by the League of Women Voters of Jasper County, the legislative gathering will begin at 10 a.m. March 15 in the library. The League of Women Voters has regularly hosted these events to give constituents a chance to provide feedback to legislators and ask questions about particular bills and their thoughts on them.

In February, the League of Women Voters hosted its first legislative gathering of the year at DMACC Newton Campus, which resulted in lengthy conversations about Rozenboom’s feelings about the pesticide tort reform bill and Dunwell’s proposal to rework the public school spending formula.
