Want to join a book club but just don’t have the time for a regular meeting? This is the book club for you! Each month there’s a new book selection, but there’s never a meeting. Copies of the book are available at the Information desk. The March book selection is “The Wonder” by Emma Donoghue.

Do you love true crime? Join our monthly Gory Stories Book Club! Bring your lunch and join other true crime addicts to discuss a new book each month and share our favorite books, podcasts, & documentaries! Copies of the book can be picked up at the library information desk. The March book selection is “The Girls Who Fought Crime” by Mari K. Eder.
Chess Club for Kids!
Monday, March 10, 3 – 5 p.m.
Kids in grades 1st – 6th are invited to learn how to play chess and practice with other children their own age. This program is free to attend and will be held in the teen area. No registration required

The Newton Public Library Foundation is sponsoring two free movies for kids during Newton’s Spring break! Despicable Me 4 will be shown at Capitol II Theatre on Monday, March 17 and Wednesday, March 19 at 10 am. Doors will open at 9:15 a.m. Tickets will be available at the Newton Public Library or Capitol II Theatre beginning March 1. A $4 pop and popcorn special will be available for these showings.
Drop-in Junk Journaling with the Centre for Arts & Artists

Join the Centre for Arts & Artists and instructor, Sophie Kruger for a drop-in junk journaling crafting afternoon! Crafters of all ages are welcome to pop in and decorate their own junk journals. All supplies will be provided, but attendees are welcome to bring along their own magazines or scrapbook materials, if they like. This event is open to all ages and children are welcome to attend with a parent or caregiver.

Dewey Cantrell performs at Blues Under the Blue Roof! Check out a new live blues music performance every month, all winter long! This event is held in the library meeting room and is free to attend. All ages welcome. This concert series is made possible by the South Skunk Blues Society, The Arts Connection, and the Newton Public Library Foundation.
