Newton Public Library Tiny Art Show
Visit the library Feb. 10 – 24 and view more than 70 tiny works of art by local artists of all ages. The art show will be on display through Feb. 24, followed by a fundraiser silent auction from 5 – 6:30 p.m.
Introvert Book Club
Want to join a book club but just don’t have the time for a regular meeting? This is the book club for you! Each month there’s a new book selection, but there’s never a meeting. Copies of the book are available at the Information desk. The February book selection is “The Storied Life of A. J. Fikry” by Gabrielle Zevin.
Chess Club for Kids!
Monday, Feb. 17, 1 – 3 p.m.
Kids in grades 1st – 6th are invited to learn how to play chess and practice with other children their own age. This program is free to attend and will be held in the teen area. No registration required.
Tiny Art Fundraiser Silent Auction
Monday, Feb.y 24, 5 – 6:30 p.m.
Take home some amazing new art while supporting your library! Join us at the library on Monday, Feb. 24, to place your bids on your favorite miniature masterpiece at this very special fundraiser silent auction. Bidding runs from 5 - 6:30 p.m. and we’ll begin announcing winners at 6:30 p.m. Bidding will start at $3 per canvas. Cash and check accepted. Proceeds of the auction will go towards funding library programs for children, teens, and adults. We appreciate your support!
Acrylic Paint-Along Class
Thursday, March 6, 5:30 p.m.
Join local artist, Kirsten Warrick for an acrylic paint-along class at the library! Attendees are encouraged to bring an apron; all other materials will be provided. Registration opens Feb. 24. Call the library at 641-792-4108 to register. Ages 18+
Blues Under the Blue Roof: Dewey Cantrell

John Resch performs at Blues Under the Blue Roof! Check out a new live blues music performance every month, all winter long! This event is held in the library meeting room and is free to attend. All ages welcome. This concert series is made possible by the South Skunk Blues Society, The Arts Connection, and the Newton Public Library Foundation.
