OWLS program ‘Backyard Bird Feeding’

Jasper County Conservation Board will host an Older, Wiser, Livelier Seniors (OWLS) program at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12 at the Jasper County Armory/Annex Building in Newton, for 10 a.m. coffee and a presentation given by Katie Cantu, naturalist with Jasper County Conservation. Cantu will give ideas and pointers for successful backyard bird feeding and talk about different birds that visit feeders in the area. This presentation is leading up to the annual Great Backyard Bird Count, a world-wide, volunteer bird survey that takes place Feb. 14-17.

The OWLS program is a conservation program that encourages seniors to stay active and learn new things about the natural world.
