Ramsey is second big lottery winner from Newton

Marshall Ramsey claimed his $10,000 prize at lottery headquarters in Clive.

Two Iowa Lottery players from Newton are starting off 2025 on a lucky note, both claiming big prizes on the same day.

Newton’s newest winner is Marshall Ramsey, who claimed his $10,000 prize at lottery headquarters in Clive. He won a top prize in the “Winner Winner Chicken Dinner” scratch game, and bought his winning ticket at Casey’s, 1907 Army Post Road in Des Moines.

Ramsey is the third person to win a top prize in Winner Winner Chicken Dinner, a $2 scratch game with overall odds of 1 in 3.69.

Just before Ramsey, Daniel Bragg of Newton claimed his $150,000 top prize in the “Money Gift” scratch game. Bragg bought his winning ticket at Fareway, 120 N. Third Ave. E. in Newton.

Newton’s two big winners claiming their prizes back-to-back is just a fun coincidence. Winning tickets are randomly distributed, so not even the lottery knows where the next big winner will hit.
