Newton students participate in Auto/Diesel Career Exploration Day at DMACC Ankeny Campus

West Academy students Hunter Lantz, Dominic Ogden and Isaac Stol, all of Newton, attended Auto/Diesel Day at the DMACC Ankeny Campus along with Melanie Dolanc, second from left, an iJAG educator at Newton Community Schools' West Academy.

Approximately 150 students from more than 30 high schools across Iowa, including Newton’s WEST Academy, attended Auto/Diesel Career Exploration Day, which was part of DMACC’s on-going series of Career Exploration Days that allow high school students, parents and educators to explore a variety of career pathways by attending hands-on activity sessions and demonstrations. The Auto/Diesel Day event was designed to share helpful information with students interested in exploring future educational and career options in auto collision technology, auto mechanics technology, diesel technology, power equipment technology and DMACC’s Manufacturer-Based Internship Programs.
