The Newton FFA Chapter competed in the South Central District FFA Soil Judging Career Development Event on Sept. 24 near Knoxville. Members evaluated soil profiles based on crop productivity potential and building site restrictions. The team of Grace Guy, Brilea Moffitt, Ben Leonard and Chelsea Vanderleest earned a 7th-place Silver rating.
