Newton Municipal Band to play July 4

The Newton Municipal Band is proud to be a part of the City of Newton’s festivities to honor our nation’s birth July 4. The band will present a patriotic concert of marches and other tunes at 7 p.m. at the bowl in Maytag Park.

You will hear many of your favorites at this concert, such as the ever popular “Stars and Stripes Forever.” Current and veteran members of our armed forces will be recognized

The concert, directed by Jim Beerends, with Fred Chabot at the microphone, will begin the evening’s program with our national anthem, “Star Spangled Banner.” The concert will close at 8 p.m., giving audience members and band members plenty of time to travel to Agnes Patterson Park for the fireworks display.

This will be the band’s final concert of the 2024 Summer Concerts in the Park Series.
