July Mystery Bag

Wondering what to read next? Check out our FREE monthly mystery bags for adults! Mystery bags have a different theme every month and contain a surprise selection of 4-5 books and an adult craft. Return the library books when you’re done with them - keep the craft! The July theme is “Buzzworthy Books” and includes a selection of popular new titles, book club favorites and BookTok picks! The craft is a butterfly shadowbox. Registration opens June 24. Call the library at 641-792-4108 to register. Ages 18+

Teen Air Dry Clay Planter Craft

June 24 & July 1, 5:30 p.m.

Join artist, Jennah Hughes to create your own air dry clay planters. The class will use stampers and other techniques to create unique textures. The first class on June 24 will be for making the planter and we’ll paint them on the second class on July 1. Attendees should plan on attending both classes. Call the library at 641-792-4108 to register. Grades 5 – 12 (grade just completed).

Iris Paper Folding Class

June 25, 4 p.m.

Learn the art and technique of iris paper folding with paper artist Emily Mallory. Attendees will learn about iris folding while making their own greeting card. All materials will be provided. This class is free to attend but registration is required to reserve your spot. Call the library at 641-792-4108 to register. Ages 18+

Scott Reister Author Talk & Book Signing

June 26, 1 p.m. at Maytag Pool Pavilion

Scott Reister, author of a new middle grade book (for ages 11-15) will be at the Maytag Pool Pavilion June 26 at 1 p.m. Copies of his books will be available for sale and he will sign any copies purchased. Come meet the author of this exciting new sports fiction book!

Cartooning Workshop with Buck Jones

July 1, 1 p.m.

Learn how to make your own cartoons with professional cartoonist Buck Jones! This is a free program and open to children in grades K – 6 (grade entering).
