Academic Achievement: Newton-area graduates, academic honors for May 21, 2024

Northwestern College

ORANGE CITY — Emma Dunsbergen of Newton, graduated Magna Cum Laude with a major in nursing from at Northwestern College.

Sara Halferty of Newton, received a Master of Education degree in history from Northwestern College May 11.

Minnesota State University

MANKATO, Minn. — Christopher George of Kellogg, graduated with a bachelor of science in Applied Leadership, Magna Cum Laude from Minnesota State University, Mankato at the end of the spring 2024 semester.

Mercy College of Health Sciences

DES MOINES — The following students have received academic honors for the spring 2024 semester at Mercy College of Health Sciences in Des Moines. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must attain a grade point average between 3.50 and 3.749 for a minimum of six semester credit hours or four quarter credit hours in their most recent academic term. To qualify for the president’s list, Mercy College students must attain a minimum grade point average of 3.75 for a minimum of six semester credit hours or four quarter credit hours in their most recent term. Area students named to the lists include: Matthew Dickey of Colfax, Dean’s List; Brynn Cazett of Newton, President’s List; Jessica Parker of Newton, President’s List; Nicholas Tremel of Newton, President’s List; Nicholas Aldrich of Prairie City, President’s List; and Noel Lloyd of Prairie City, Dean’s List.

Alixandra Anderson of Newton, was conferred an Associate of Science in Radiologic Technology degree by Mercy College of Health Sciences.

Southern New Hampshire University

MANCHESTER, NH — Southern New Hampshire University congratulates the following students on being named to the Winter 2024 president’s pist. The winter terms run from January to May. Full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.700 and above for the reporting term are named to the president’s list and include Jordan DeGoey of Newton, Cori Flatt of Rhodes and Jennifer Guinn of Rhodes.
