Victim involved in rollover on I-80 near Newton flown to Des Moines hospital

One person was flown to a Des Moines area hospital after sustaining injuries from a rollover accident before noon on Wednesday, March 20 along Interstate 80 in Newton, officials told Newton News.

Newton Fire Department, Newton Police Department and Jasper County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the accident, which occurred near the eastbound 164 exit on I-80. One victim was extricated from the vehicle with injuries and was transported to a hospital via helicopter for further treatment.
