Holiday Selfie Station

December 1 – 28

Drop-in during any of our open hours December 1 - 28 and take photos in our pop-up Holiday selfie station! You bring yourself and a camera, we’ll provide the set! The selfie station is free to use and open to the public. No registration required.

B.Y.O.B Book Club

Thursday, December 14, 3:00 p.m.

Join our new afternoon book club for adults! Choose your own book to read, based on our monthly theme, and share what you read at the meeting. It’s like a potluck for books! The December theme is “Self Help”.

Library Holiday Closures

The Newton Public Library will be closed on the following dates in December:

Friday, December 15th: Library opens late at 1:00 p.m.

December 23rd – 26th: Library closed for Christmas

Santa Stroll & Storytime

Saturday, December 16, noon

Join Destination Downtown’s Santa Stroll at the Library! Santa will be at the Library Saturday, December 16th at Noon to read a story and take photos with children. Children in attendance will receive a gently used Christmas book and a take-home reindeer craft. This event is free to attend and open to the public.

Teen Board Game Club

Thursday, December 21, 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.

Teens and Tweens in grades 5 to 12, are invited to join us for a special Chess edition of Teen Board Game Club. Library staff member Bill Bennett will introduce the game of chess and give tips to more experienced players. No experience necessary to attend!

Gory Stories Book Club

Tuesday, January 2nd, noon

Do you love true crime? Join our monthly Gory Stories Book Club! Bring your lunch and join other true crime addicts to discuss a new book each month and share our favorite books, podcasts, & documentaries! Copies of the book can be picked up at the library information desk. The January book selection is “Trailed: One Woman’s Quest to Solve the Shenandoah Murders” by Kathryn Miles.
