Newton FFA shines at National FFA Convention

Newton FFA state champion Agronomy and Ag Mechanics teams recently represented Iowa at the 96th National FFA Convention.

Newton FFA state champion Agronomy and Ag Mechanics teams recently represented Iowa at the 96th National FFA Convention.

The Ag Mechanics team of Tyler Guy, Colin Cummins, Landon Menninga and Wesley McElroy finished third in the nation. The team was led by Guy and Cummins who finished fifth and 15th, respectively.

The Agronomy team of Lauren VanManen, Austin Storm, Breanna Leaming and Madelyn Adkison placed eigth in the nation. The team was led by VanManen in 15th place.

Kathryn Struthers and Lauren Zaabel also received the American FFA Degree which is the highest degree the National FFA can bestow. Also, attending the convention from Newton were Marshall Penning, Dalton Mowbray, Nathan Hauber and Kaylin Hauber.
