Join staff from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 11 at the Neal Smith National Wildlife Refuge to help rebuild more tallgrass prairie by hand collecting native prairie seed. Enjoy the prairie filled with a variety of native seeds while watching wildlife as you help conserve Iowa’s native habitat.
Hot chocolate and snacks will be available courtesy of the Friends of Neal Smith National Wildlife Refuge. Volunteers will clean seeds indoors to prepare them for spring planting if the weather is inclement.
Individuals, families and groups are welcome to participate. For additional information and to register contact nancy_corona@fws.gov or call 515-994-3400.
