Autumn Book Swap
Book Drop Off: Oct. 30 – Nov. 4
Book Swap: Nov. 6, 5 – 6:30 p.m.
Clean out your bookshelves and pick up some new-to-you books at our Autumn Book Swap! Drop off your gently used books at the library Oct. 30 - Nov. 4 and pick up a book swap ticket for each book you bring in (limit 15 tickets per person). Bring your tickets back on Nov. 6, between 5 and 6:30 p.m. to pick out new books from the swap to take home! Books should be in good condition and gently used. All covers and pages must be intact and have minimal markings. Books cannot have mold or water damage. Questions? Contact public services librarian Becca Klein at 641-792-4108.
Autumn Book Sale
Early Access Night: Tuesday, Nov. 7, 5 – 7 p.m.
Book Sale: Nov. 8 & 9, 9 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Pick up some great books while supporting your library at our Autumn Book Sale! Cash and personal check will be accepted. A $10 donation gets you early access to the sale on Nov. 7, from 5 to 7 p.m. There is no entry fee on Nov. 8 and 9. Library Closed Veteran’s Day
The Newton Public Library will be closed on Saturday, Nov. 11, in observance of Veteran’s Day. Regular library hours will resume on Monday, Nov. 13.
Holiday Mystery Bag for Adults
Wondering what to read next? Check out our FREE monthly mystery bags for adults! Mystery bags have a different theme every month and contain a surprise selection of 4-5 books and an adult craft. Return the library books when you’re done with them - keep the craft! The combined November and December theme is “The Most Wonderful Time of the Year.” This special holiday mystery bag will include a selection of winter, family, and holiday themed books. The craft is a festive holiday shadowbox. Registration opens Nov. 13. Ages 18+
Library Closed for Thanksgiving
The Newton Public Library will be closed Nov. 22 – 26 for Thanksgiving. Regular library hours will resume on Monday, Nov. 27.
