McGinley Auto Group and Mahaska Communication Group awarded by NDC

Salute to Business & Industry recognizes entrepreneurial and community efforts

Newton Development Corporation held its Salute to Business & Industry event Oct. 12 at the DMACC Newton Conference Center. The annual event is a time for community businesses and leaders to congregate, enjoy a catered lunch and learn about the efforts of the latest entrepreneurs and business owners in town.

The winner of the Jim Tyler Entrepreneurial Award this year was the McGinley Auto Group. Past award winners include The Thunderdome, Brian Iverson of T-stud, Betsy Duffy of Gezellig Brewing Co., Newton Elite Properties, Phoenix Investors and Multi-Packaging and Printing, Inc., among others.

Mahaska Communication Group, which has offered residents another source for fiber internet, was also awarded at the event. Past winners include Hy-Vee, Legacy Plaza, TPI Composites, DMACC Newton Campus, Maytag Dairy Farms, Patriot Converting Inc. and Mercy Medical Center, among others.
