Wild Cat Outlaw Music Festival announces music fest, food challenge hybrid

Country Foodie Festival features food vendors contest, Hannah Dasher headliner

Wild Cat Outlaw Music Festival is serving up a country-fried feast. Or is it fest?

Organizers of the Country Foodie Festival say it’s both. Wild Cat Outlaw Music Festival announced it is combining live music and a food vendor challenge into one event on Sept. 16 at Quarry Springs Park in Colfax, located just off of Interstate 80. The gates for the event open at noon.

According to a press release from the music festival, there will be “flavorful food challenges” featuring more than 10 Iowa food vendors serving up everything from BBQ and burgers to egg rolls and ice cream. Beer and a variety of other drinks will also be sold to the concertgoers.

Hannah Dasher, a rising country star and foodie, will be headlining the festival. Dasher is known for her viral “Stand By Your Pan” cooking and music series and her breakout single “Girls Call The Shots.” Dasher has amassed more than 1.5 million subscribers on TikTok and 8.4 million streams.

Additional performances by Jordan Beem, Kraft Brothers, Outlaw Country Express and Richard Arndt round out the shows.

Tickets to Country Foodie Festival cost $10 when purchased in advance at www.countryfoodiefest.com, or $20 at the door the day of the event. A number of local businesses in Newton and Colfax are also selling tickets. Sponsorship and volunteer opportunities are available, too.
