Newton’s Sunset Dog Park now open

Dogs now have a new place to burn some energy off right in the heart of Newton. The one-acre park is located on the north side of the downtown and was part of the community-approved 2022 park bond referendum. Sunset Dog Park is fenced-in with a small and large dog area, dog water stations and benches for dog owners.

Sunset Dog Park will encourage residents to be active and social outside of the facility and give their dogs the necessary exercise and socialization. The dog park will be an excellent amenity for the entire community but also for the nearby pet-friendly retirement communities, Park Centre and Newton Village, the newly renovated mixed-use area at Legacy Plaza, as well as newer residential units nearby, including Lion’s Gate Apartments and Hotel Maytag.
