Prairie Meadows donates to the City of Monroe for disc golf project

Prairie Meadows recently awarded the City of Monroe a Community Betterment Grant totaling $7,500. The grant will help fund the Monroe Disc Golf Project at the Monroe Recreation Park.

Kim Thomas, Monroe city administrator, is pleased with the funding from the Community Betterment Grant and is very anxious to work toward completion of the MRP Disc Golf Project.

“The City of Monroe is committed to improving our city parks and the MRP Disc Golf Course is a great recreation amenity for everyone to be able to enjoy,” Thomas said.

The Community Betterment Grant will improve the lives of people in central Iowa by enabling the City of Monroe to complete the Monroe Disc Golf Project. The $7,500 grant will allow the City of Monroe to build a gazebo, purchase picnic tables, signage, and metal trash receptacles. The project is expected to be completed in the fall of 2023.
