Limited edition ornaments featuring Fred Maytag Bowl still available

There’s always room for one more decoration on the Christmas tree.

For the second year in a row, Newton Main Street is selling a limited edition ornament that features another hometown monument: the Fred Maytag Bowl. The gold, red and green colored ornaments can still be purchased for $25 at The Farmer’s Wife and Farmhouse Creations in Newton.

Last year Main Street sold another ornament for the holiday season depicting the lighted Jasper County Courthouse, a community landmark known by all who grew up in Newton. Erin Yeager, executive director of Newton Main Street, said the ornaments make great keepsakes for residents that want to support local.

A new ornament will be introduced next year as well. Yeager said to get the current ornaments while supplies last, “because when they are out, they are out.”
