Homecoming parade route changed due to city construction

The Homecoming parade route for Newton High School has been changed.

Due to city construction, the parade route will begin at Newton High School and then proceed west on South Eighth Avenue East, north on East Third Street South, west on South Second Avenue East, north on East Second Street, west on North Second Avenue and then south on West Second Street North until it reaches the courthouse.

Floats for the parade will depart the high school at 6 p.m. Sept. 15. The community is encouraged to join in for the pep rally at the courthouse and support their fellow Cardinals along the parade route.
