Wahlburgers at Hy-Vee opening in Newton

There’s something cookin’ over at the Newton Hy-Vee.

Wahlburgers at Hy-Vee will be opening March 29 inside the food service department at Newton Hy-Vee, 1501 First Ave. E. Formerly known as Hy-Vee Market Grille Express, the department has since been converted and transitioned to the casual, counter-service restaurant.

The new restaurant will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week and will include most of the same menu options available at the full-service Wahlburgers locations, such as signature burgers, home-style sides, housemade condiments, salads, sandwiches, shakes and a full-service bar of beer, wine and cocktails.

Customers can still order Hy-Vee breakfast favorites from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily.

Chef Paul Wahlberg created the Wahlburgers franchise, along with brothers Mark and Donnie Wahlberg, for friends and family to come together over delicious chef-inspired dishes served up in a casual, music-filled atmosphere. The original Wahlburgers opened in Hingham, Mass., in 2011.

To date, Hy-Vee owns six full-service Wahlburgers locations and more than 50 Wahlburgers at Hy-Vee locations.
