MercyOne Newton Medical Center received a $14,935 grant from Variety — the Children’s Charity to support the purchase of a new GE Coro 259cx Series maternal/fetal monitor system.
The GE Coro 259cx Series maternal/fetal monitor system plays a vital role in providing high-quality care for mothers and babies by monitoring them during the labor process to ensure a safe delivery experience. This new monitor system is the most current technology available and will work in conjunction with the hospital’s Novii walking fetal monitor, which allows mothers to be active during the labor process.
“The GE Coro series maternal/fetal monitor is a great addition to our Obstetrics department,” Keri Schippers, MercyOne Newton inpatient manager, said. “We are very grateful to Variety — the Children’s Charity for their contribution to make the purchase of the monitor system possible. It will directly benefit families in Jasper County and will ensure we can provide the highest level of care to some of our smallest, yet most important patients.”
