Advantage Credit Union offers $1,000 scholarship

Advantage Credit Union will be awarding a $1,000 scholarship for the 2021-2022 school year. The scholarship is available to any high school senior who is a member of Advantage Credit Union in good standing, attending a four year college or university, community college or tech/trade school, for the 2021-2022 school year.

Entrants are required to submit a business style resume’ not to exceed two pages in length, and answer the following essay in 500 words or less:

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a devastating effect on personal heath and financial well-being for many in our community. Thousands of Iowans have lost jobs or experienced reduced work hours, highlighting the critical need for access to emergency savings and how your credit union can assist. Please share strategies and products your credit union has in place to help members save money. Consider sharing personal examples in this essay.

Entries must be received at the credit union no later than March 26.

Advantage Credit Union membership is open to everyone who lives or works in Jasper County or 18 counties in Central Iowa. New members can join the credit union with just a $25 deposit into a savings account.
