The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office has issued its first emergency communication radio to the Lynnville-Sully School District.
Lt. Brad Shutts said in a press release this emergency radio is equipped with an automatic red alert button to notify Jasper County Communications and all Jasper County law enforcement of an emergency situation at the school. The emergency communications radio also gives the school district direct communication with the Jasper County Communications Center and first responders for developments and changes in the emergency situation.
The device is part of the Jasper County radio communications network, S.A.R.A (Shared Area Radio Agreement) Network, that was purchased through Racom Corporation in 2017.
The sheriff’s offise and the Jasper County 911 Service Board has a goal to to equip each school in Jasper County with an emergency communications radio, according to the release.
The organizations appreciate the Lynnville-Sully School District and Racom Corporation of Marshalltown for their partnership in getting Operation Red Response/School Connect kicked off.
