Richard Lee Maggard

Richard Lee Maggard, 80, of Baxter died on Thursday, September 15, 2022, at Eldora Care Facility. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, September 23, 2022, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, September 22, at the funeral home. Memorials to Ashton Chapel may be left at the funeral home.

Richard, the son of Robert and June (Campbell) Maggard, was born on October 3, 1941 in Colfax.  He grew up in the Mingo area and graduated from Mingo High School.  Richard was united in marriage with Linda Stubbe on October 12, 1962 in Baxter. They would reside in either Baxter or rural Mingo during their marriage. Richard was a truck driver and a farmer. He was a member of Ashton Chapel and loved fishing, hunting, watching birds, and farming.

Richard is survived by his four children, David (Kelly) Maggard of Mingo, Darwin (Vicky) Maggard of Prairie City, Donnie (Holly) Maggard of Runnells, and Carmen (Rusty) Parker of Baxter; 10 grandchildren, Jake Maggard, Marybeth Maggard, Breck Hinton, James Maggard, Kelsey (Austin) Walker, Jaret Maggard, Justin Maggard, Leeanna (Brandon) Price, Russell Parker, and Dakota Parker; his two great-grandchildren, Kole Price and Lane Walker; and sister, Rita Milligan of Mingo.  He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Linda Maggard.
