BAXTER — A 25-2 first quarter was enough for the Baxter girls' basketball team against Don Bosco on Tuesday night.
The Bolts only outscored the Dons by six the rest of the way, but the damage had been done in a 52-23 home win during Iowa Star Conference cross-division action.
Elie Tuhn scored 17 points, dished out four assists and swiped six steals to lead the Bolts, who are 6-1 and have won six straight games.
McKenzie Eslinger finished with seven points and seven rebounds, Maddie Pierce tallied six points, two rebounds and four steals and Sophie Meyer and Brooke Bacon each had seven points and two steals.
Bacon grabbed three boards and Meyer had two. Lilie Vansice collected five points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals, Mandee Selover pulled down five boards, Cassy Berg grabbed two rebounds and Allyson Padget finished with two steals.
Don Bosco dropped to 0-9 on the season.

Baxter 53, Don Bosco 41
A big first half lifted the Baxter boys to a home win over Don Bosco on Tuesday night.
Baxter led 14-6 after the first and improved the advantage to 29-10 at halftime during a 53-41 win in Iowa Star Conference cross-division action.
Cody Damman had a career-best 19 points, eight steals, two rebounds and two assists, Rory Heer tallied 12 points, nine rebounds, two assists and three steals and Carson Scroggins finished with seven points, five rebounds, two assists, four steals and two blocks.
Nate McMinamen had eight points and three rebounds, Kael Johnston scored four points, Treyton Travis put in three points and Trice Clapper grabbed two boards for the Bolts, who improved to 3-3.
Peyton Pecenka scored a game-high 21 points for the Dons, who fell to 2-4 on the season.
