Mustang grapplers down West Marshall

STATE CENTER — Hewitt Brinegar, Landon Fenton and Colby Tool all went 3-0 on the night, but PCM's wrestling team finished 1-2 in a road quadrangular on Thursday.

The Mustangs jumped out to a big lead against host West Marshall and won 46-36. Nevada downed PCM 48-33 and Woodward-Granger was better than the Mustangs by a score of 54-24.

In the win over West Marshall, Remington Fry (106), Brinegar (120), Fenton (145), Tool (160), Donovan Nickelson (195), Cooper Sloan (220) and Kinser Sloan (285) all won by fall. Alex Courtney (113) also won 16-6.

In the loss to Nevada, Fenton, Tool and Nate Richards (182) all won by fall, Courtney and Nickelson won by forfeit and Brinegar claimed a 6-2 win by decision.

The Mustangs won four matches against W-G. Brinegar, Fenton, Tool and Cooper Sloan all won by fall.

Fenton and Tool remained unbeaten on the season. Fenton, who is ranked ninth in Class 2A at 138 pounds, is now 12-0 with 12 pins at 145 pounds. Eleven of the 12 pins came in the first period.

Tool, who is ranked third at 152, is 12-0 with 10 pins at 160. Eight of his 10 pins came in the first period.

Brinegar improved to 10-2 with six pins, Cooper Sloan is 9-3 with seven pins and Nickelson is 7-3 with five pins.
