Newton FFA poultry team wins Iowa FFA Poultry CDE

On Saturday, Oct. 3, the Newton FFA poultry team competed virtually in the Iowa FFA Poultry Career Development Event.

The members took a written test, judged live chickens, cuts of poultry, and eggs. The victorious team consisted of Jacob Aldrich, Abby Hobbs, Molly Lovan, and Cody Swank. The group received first place overall, and all members of the team placed in the top eleven individually, and Jacob Aldrich placed second overall in the contest.

This is the first time Newton FFA has won the Poultry CDE.
