DES MOINES — PCM's volleyball team evened its Heart of Iowa Conference record with a sweep of Saydel on Tuesday night.
The Mustangs got 22 assists from senior Bella Stone, seven kills from seniors Celeste Wagaman and Jacki Vos and 19 digs from junior Chelsea Bird during a 25-8, 25-14, 25-19 road win over the Eagles.
It was the second win over Saydel for PCM this season. The Mustangs are now 7-12 overall and 2-2 in conference play. Saydel dropped to 2-8 overall and 0-1 in HOIC matches.
Junior Claire Wilson finished with five kills and four digs, senior Emma Reed tallied four kills and two digs and senior Emma Houser finished with six digs.
Senior Kassidy Block had three kills, seniors Riley Hjortshoj and Erin VanPeursem each had two kills and Vos had three digs. Wagaman and senior Lilli Baird both had a pair of digs and sophomore Sidney Shaver dished out two assists.
PCM was 64-of-73 in serves, led by Bird's 20-of-22 and four aces. Stone was 12-of-14 and Wagaman served 14-of-16.
The Mustangs play in the North Mahaska tournament at 9 a.m. on Saturday in New Sharon.
