The following guidelines/expectations will be in place for spectators attending Newton school activities this fall at all indoor and outdoor school facilities (including HA Lynn Stadium):
• Face coverings will be required to enter and be worn in all public areas (i.e. concession stands, restrooms, commons area).
Available seating will be designed taking into account public health social distancing guidelines. Once seated, spectators may relax face coverings once proper social distancing has been established. In areas where social distancing is not possible, face coverings will be required.
• Student sections (both high school and middle school) will require a face covering to enter and students will maintain face coverings while in the student section.
• All spectators will be encouraged to practice social distancing and remain six feet away from other non family member spectators when at all possible.
• Seating at events will be marked as available in groupings of two and four. Family members are encouraged to sit together. Areas marked with blue tape is where seating is not permitted.
• Frequent reminders regarding spectator guidelines and expectations will be made via the public address announcer.
• Spectators are encouraged to practice social responsibility and stay home if they do not feel well or are running fever.
• Spectators are encouraged to use exact change when paying at the gate or at the concession stand.
Newton's volleyball team hosts a round-robin five-team tournament today at Berg Middle School. Action starts at 4:30 p.m.
The Cardinal football team begins the regular season against PCM at 7:30 p.m. on Friday in Monroe.
Be sure to check social media and/or school websites begin attending out-of-district games as fan guidelines are all specific to each school.
