Kenneth Carl Arthur

Kenneth Carl Arthur, the son of Cecil and Pansy (Gerard) Arthur, was born April 4, 1925, in Poweshiek County. He graduated from the Searsboro Senior High School with the class of 1943. Kenneth served in the South Pacific in the United States Marine Corps from 1944-1946. On March 5, 1947, Kenneth was united in marriage with Colleen Fudge in Newton. Kenneth worked the land as a farmer. In later years, he worked in maintenance for Progress Industries. Kenneth enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Kenneth died Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2020, at the Iowa Veteran’s Home in Marshalltown. He was 95 years old.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Brett Arthur; three sisters; and three brothers. Those left to honor Kenneth’s memory include his wife, Colleen Arthur; his sons, Alan (Barb) Arthur and Kenny Arthur; his daughter, LeAnn Poulos; his grandchildren, Craig (Amy) Arthur, Angie (Steve) Conner, Andrea Poulos and Collin Poulos; his great-grandson, Caleb Arthur; and his sisters, Eva McDowell, Doris Lowry and Shirley Tice.

A memorial graveside service will begin at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 28 at the Jackson Township Cemetery in Montezuma. A Facebook Live broadcast will begin at 10 a.m. on the Pence Reese Funeral home and Cremation Services Facebook Page. Memorials may be designated to the Iowa Veteran’s Home in Kenneth’s name and may be left at the funeral home.
