Newton Police Department

• Clint T. Nelson, 40, of Newton, was arrested at 9:33pm June 11 in the 900 block of North Fourth Avenue East on a Department of Corrections warrant for a Parole violation. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Jessica L. Rozanski, 34, of Newton, was charged with two counts of fifth-degree theft from multiple incidents that occurred May 30 and June 1 in the 300 block of Iowa Speedway Drive. According to the Newton Police Department, Rozanski went to Walmart May 30 and had a shopping cart full of merchandise. Rozanski went to the scan and go #46. Rozanski scanned all of the merchandise. Rozanski slid a card and appeared to get a print out receipt but in reality got a declined receipt instead. Rozanski is viewed sliding another card and pushed some buttons. No receipt was printed and Rozanski walked off without paying for the merchandise. The total amount for the merchandise is $92.80 with tax. Additionally, on June 1 officers responded to Walmart for a female shoplifter. Rozanski went into Walmart, picked out three merchandise, an essence candle and two toys. Rozanski went to the self checkout register and scanned the items but made no attempt to pay for the merchandise. Rozanski walked out of the store without paying for the items. Walmart employees stopped Rozanski and the total value of the merchandise is under $300. Rozanski was cited and released to appear in court on both charges.

• Drew C. Sokol, 28, of Newton, was arrested at 4:58 p.m. June 11 at at the intersection of East Fifth Street and North Second Avenue on two Cerro Gordo County warrants for a mittimus reference child support and failure to appear in court reference child support. He was turned over to Cerro Gordo authorities.

• Terry L. Wilfawn, 30, of Newton, was arrested at 2:36 a.m. June 12 at West Third Street and South Second Avenue on a Polk County warrant for eluding, driving while barred, OWI 2nd and carrying weapons. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.
