Garms Family to perform at Bar None Cowboy Church

The Garms Family will be singing at 7 p.m. at the Bar None Cowboy Church, 1690 W 19th St. S., Thursday.

David and Kris Garms band together with their sons and daughters, Ben, Taylor, Leesha, Sam, Jayme, and Caleb, to bring hope in chaos and a glimpse of what God can do with surrendered lives. The Garms Family's refreshing mix of acoustic Christian music has been compared to the
likes of The Collingsworth Family, the Isaacs and the Gettys, with a surprising nod to classic groups such as the Cathedral Quartet.

None of the three brothers and three sisters have had instrument or vocal lessons. Family hymn sings in the living room grew into more than 15 instruments, eight CDs, and a full-time tour schedule across America. Today, The Garms Family has over a decade of experience and breaks ground with their acoustic Christian music, transcending Southern Gospel, bluegrass, Celtic, and contemporary.

Guitars, piano, drums, fiddle, banjo, upright bass, dobro and mandolin make up the core band, but an eclectic sound varies at each concert. All members are skilled vocalists—from soprano to deep bass — and they switch leads, trios, and quartets to convey a song’s particular message. They blend new takes on hymns and familiar songs with original music they’ve written
