Area high school softball, baseball schedule for 2020

High school baseball and softball games are scheduled to begin on June 15. All five Jasper County high schools are fielding teams in the coronavirus-shortened 2020 season.

Newton, Lynnville-Sully, Colfax-Mingo, Baxter and Prairie City-Monroe will have games on June 15. The regular season runs through July 14.

Softball postseason begins with regionals on July 13 and the state tournament is July 27-31 in Fort Dodge’s Harlan Rogers Park. Baseball postseason begins July 9 and the state tournament is July 24-Aug. 1 at Principal Park in Des Moines.

Play on the field will not be normal for teams. There are guidelines and protocols in place because of COVID-19 which players, coaches and spectators will need to be mindful of for the season.

Here is a composite schedule for all five Jasper County schools. Games were gathered from the four conference websites — Little Hawkeye, Heart of Iowa, South Iowa Cedar League and Iowa Star.

Schedules might change because of circumstances such as weather or health guideline issues.
