The Jasper Community Foundation has extended its grant application deadline by 30 days. It will now accept applications through May 30.
The Jasper Community Foundation’s 2020 Grant Applications are now available. Grant applications have been available since Feb. 15 with an original deadline date of April 30. Because of potentially rising needs in the community due to COVID-19, the community foundation has extended the grant application deadline date through May 30.
Grant applications and additional information can be accessed via the Foundation's website: www.jaspercommunityfoundation.org. Grant applications to be considered for funding this year must be received by May 30. All 501(c)3 organizations, 170(c)(1) units of government and other potentially qualifying charitable organizations operating in or for the benefit of Jasper County should go to the Jasper Community Foundation website for guidelines, applications and additional information. This will be the only grant cycle of 2020.
This grant program is made possible through a contribution to the Foundation by the Iowa General Assembly. In 2004, the Iowa legislature passed bills to encourage foundation building and community-based philanthropy. Among these measures was H.F. 2032 (County Endowment Fund Program) which provided that non-gambling counties, initiating a county-wide community foundation, would be eligible to receive a percentage of the commercial casinos’ gaming tax revenues annually. In 2019, the Jasper Community Foundation disbursed nearly $100,000 to 25 different nonprofit organizations throughout the county. These funds were awarded to charitable organizations for educational, civic and public purposes in Jasper County. A full listing of grantees can be found on the Foundation’s website.
All inquiries pertaining to the grant application process should be directed to the “Contact Us” link located on the homepage of the Jasper Community Foundation website.
