Iowa Pork is currently holding the Iowa Pulled Pork Madness competition to see who has the best pulled pork and Moo's BBQ, which won the honor in 2018, is once again in the finals and hoping to come away with another victory.
Thanks to online voting, Moo's in once again in the finals and continued voting could crown the BBQ shop champion once again. Those instrested can visit Moo's BBQ Facebook page to find the link to vote. Voting closes at 11:45 p.m. Thursday.
This year, Moo's is up against Whatcha Smokin BBQ and Brew located in Luther in the finals.
While voting doesn't close until Thursday, Biondi already has plans for if Moo's was to win again, whether that be some sort of celebration or food specials.
"We are going to celebrate when we win," Biondi said.
Even though Moo's BBQ had to close the resturant area under the Iowa govornor's recommendations, the local business is getting through this unsual time by serving up its tasty eats for those in the community who need their barbecue fix. Customers can still untilize the drive through window or pick up orders inside Moo's, according to its Facebook page.
"We sold 164 racks of ribs Saturday. To the point, it's really really hard to do that through a drive through window," Moo's owner Jeremy Biondi said.
Biondi said it is important to support small local businesses and not just Moo's. Along with competing for the best pulled pork, Moo's is also coming up on its six year anniversary and Biondi said they will celebrate that, too.
"Our six year anniversary is coming up. So if we win we will probably do one day where we smoke a ton a pork and then we give away sandwiches," Biondi said.
To vote visit woobox.com/met287. The voting will officially end Thursday.
"We should find out Friday who won," Biondi said.
