A total of 18 DMACC students were among the 77 students named to the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Society All-Iowa Academic Team. The entire group was recently recognized in a special ceremony held at the Embassy Suites in downtown Des Moines. The DMACC students named to the All-Iowa Academic Team include: (front row, from left) Dani Kasner of Collins, Katherine Jarvis of Carroll, Emma Swanger of Sac City, Kendra Allen of Boone and Serenity Stier of Newton; (back row) Courtney A. Martin of Ames, Emily Moe of Ames, Charity Dangelser of Newton, Suzy Fentress of Adel (formerly of Perry), Rachel Bale of Hampton and Sally Schrunk of Ames; (back row) Rob Denson, Nathaniel Golus of Des Moines, Angel Nunez Torres of Osceola, Stephen Brooks of Boone, Jeffrey Howe of Des Moines and Sara Bergin of Ames. Amanda Atkinson of Norwalk and Fortino Lazaro of West Des Moines (not in photo) were also named to the All-Iowa Academic Team. In addition, several DMACC students received other honors including Charity Dangelser and Angel Nunez Torres were named Coca Cola Gold medal winners and each will receive a $1,500 scholarship.
