Vincent Bauer

Vincent Bauer, 89, of Newton, died Monday, March 2, 2020, at Newton Village. Services will be held at a later date. Memorials to Vincent’s family (checks made out to Randy Bauer) may be left at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory.

Vincent, the son of Leo and Mae (Wadle) Bauer, was born Feb. 21, 1931, in Bauer. He grew up in Bauer and at the age of 17 moved to Newton. He was united in marriage with Donna Murray. Vincent worked in the factory at the Maytag Company for 30 years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Vincent enjoyed fishing, hunting and trips to the Meskwaki Casino.

Vincent is survived by his children, Vivian Sinclair of Milan, Mo., Vincent “Larry” Bauer of Newton and Randy (Rhonda) Bauer of Newton; grandchildren, Marta Sinclair, Matt Hatcher, Lindy Fisher, Kristen Bauer, Rachel Bauer and Hope Bauer; his nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Vincent was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Donna; grandson, Mark Hatcher; and seven brothers.
