Longtime area farmer, David Hagedorn, 82, of rural Newton, died Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2019, at his home, under hospice care.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jean; his son, Chris (Joy) Hagedorn; his grandchildren, Becky (Jim) Armstrong and Max Thomasson; his faithful German shepherd, Molly; his sister-in-law, Jane McDaniel (Ken Thompson); a niece, Lynn (Steve) Gifford; and his nephews, Mike (Lucie) Provin, Joel Provin, Tim (Judy) Allen and Bill (Robin) McDaniel; and many good friends.
A private burial will be at a later date.
Memorials may be designated to Wittenberg Cemetery Association, Mercy Hospice, Jasper County Animal Rescue League or Wittemberg Church Historical Society and may be left at the Pence-Reese Funeral Home.
