A Newton man was arrested Wednesday on multiple sexual abuse charges.
Alion White, 34, was arrested in Jackson County, Mo., on a Jasper County warrant and transported to the Jasper County Jail.
He was charged with two counts of third-degree sexual abuse and sexual exploitation of a minor all stemming from allegations during an Oct. 21, 2018 incident involving a female minor, according the Newton Police Department.
White allegedly woke up the minor by touching her suggestively. The victim managed to get up and go to the other room where her friend was sleeping.
The incident was reported to the Newton Police Department Jan. 13. During the time of the investigation, a search warrant was obtained and executed at White’s residence.
The search warrant yielded evidence that substantiated the female minor’s claim as well as photographic evidence that suggested White may have sexually assaulted another victim.
At the same time the NPD’s investigation, there was an open Iowa Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force investigation against White for possession of child pornography.
White remains at the Jasper County Jail and is being held on a $100,000 cash only bond. His preliminary hearing is June 17, according to the Jasper County Jail.
