Lillian Kaye Corbett, 75, of Newton, died Sunday, April 21, 2019, at MercyOne Newton Medical Center. A funeral service will begin at noon Thursday, April 25 at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will greet friends from 11 a.m. Thursday until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorials may be left in Lillian’s name to Bill Corbett.

Lillian, the daughter of Clarence and Myrtle Rose (Cook) Reichel, was born May 13, 1943, in Mansfield, Mo. She lived in Jefferson City, Mo., until moving to Newton in June of 1982. On Dec. 14, 1982, Lillian was united in marriage with William “Bill” D. Corbett in Newton. Lillian was a homemaker and had also worked shortly at both Maytag Plant 2 and at the Jasper County Care Facility. She enjoyed doing word search puzzles, watching Westerns and talking with family.

Lillian is survived by her husband, William D. Corbett of Newton; children, Diana (Mark) Jackson of Spotsylvania, Va., Tim (Elena) Fox of Independence, Mo., and Kimberly (George) Strausbaugh of Omaha, Neb.; grandchildren, Lara Jackson, George Strausbaugh and Stuart Strausbaugh; and great-grandchildren, Rohnen and Ryan; her step-children, Marlene (Charlie) Barr of Rochester, Minn., William E. (Barb) Corbett of Newton, David Corbett of Minneapolis and Marilyn Corbett of Tennessee; step-grandchildren, Jamie (Jayme) Conner, Mandy Conner, Afton Proudfit, Nicole Baumann, David Corbett, Jr. and Jonathan Smith; and step-great-grandchildren, Aaron, McKenzie, Savanna and Brookland. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brothers and sisters.
