Ruth Moredock

Ruth Moredock, 93, of Newton, died Saturday, April 20, 2019, at Newton Health Care Center. Per Ruth’s wishes, a private family graveside service will be held at Newton Memorial Park Cemetery.

Ruth, the daughter of Charles L. and Mary J. (McCawley) Moredock, was born Aug. 7, 1925. She lived in Newton for most of her life and worked at the Maytag Company for 35 years, retiring in1987.

Ruth is survived by her daughter-in-law, Cheryl Moredock of Newton; grandchildren, Theresa (Matthias) McMillan and Ryan Moredock; great-grandchildren, Brandi Hodge, Eric Hodge and Tiffany Hodge; her great-great-grandchildren, Emma and Silas Miller and Kaiden Creech, all of Newton; and many nieces and nephews, including a niece she was especially close to, Sioux (Dan) Newberg of Ankeny. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a son, Richard Moredock.
